bulletWithin walking distance of the cottage is a General Store and Post Office. Opposite the Post Office is  the village pub, The  Countryman's,  offering good food and drinks at reasonable prices. The village green has a children's play area, consequently dog owners are not allowed to take their dogs onto the green.

bulletAt Bedale and Leyburn there is a good range of shops which cater for all your requirements. There is now a major store at Catterick Garrison, which is open late on weekdays. It is approximately 4 miles from the village on the road signposted to Catterick/Richmond
